Some people love their hometown deeply and wish to die where they were born. Some flee from it, hoping to find themselves and fulfill their potential elsewhere. Many spend their lives away from home, searching for a place where they feel truly understood, a safe space that can hold the full weight of their emotions. For them, home is not that ideal container; at times, it’s too indifferent, too familiar, or too confining. Even so, most people eventually come to make peace with their hometown.

People leave home, return, and set out again. Metro stations, bus terminals, taxis, train platforms, airports, monthly passes, round-trip tickets. We are always on the way. It’s been a while since I left my hometown, and in a way, that distance has given me sharper eyes, allowing me to rediscover people and things I once took for granted. If I were to capture this spring and this city, perhaps music — the most universal language — would be the best way to do it.
